dicotyledonous plant known as the mat in Algeria of the family Amaranthaceae, an invasive species
with creeping stems branching from the base that are often reddish, 0.40 cm
high. Leaves are oval in shape, flowers are greenish, fruits are spherical
capsules with black seeds. Shiny, it is native to North America and North
Africa. It is resistant to herbicides.
