identify it?
Amaranthus
viridis is an erect annual plant of the Amaranthaceae family
with a green, often red stem, about 90 cm high. The leaves are light green with
a white spot that distinguishes them from other species. Leaves are arranged
alternately along the stem. Oval in shape and fixed with long necks. The tip of
the leaf blade is serrated. The flowering part of the plant, is a dense spur of
green flowers, and the fruit is a small capsule that does not open at maturity.
Contains one shiny brown seed . Native to Europe but very common in Algeria, it
grows in gardens, wastelands, pastures and along roadsides.
